5. Grandpa Durov’s Wonderland

There is an unusual theatre in Moscow - Grandpa Durov’s Wonderland. The actors there are not people, but animals: horses and ponies, chimps, elephants, bears, camels, hippos and birds! They can do a lot of tricks. Children like visiting this theatre a lot.

В Москве есть необычный театр - Уголок дедушки Дурова. Актёрами являются не люди, а животные: лошади и пони, шимпанзе, слоны, медведи, верблюды, бегемоты и птицы! Они выполняют много трюков. Детям нравится посещать этот театр.

This is an emu. Emus are from Australia. In Australia there are a lot of emu farms. Emus are very tall with a big body, a small head and long legs. An emu’s body and legs are brown and its head and neck are blue. Emus can run very fast, but they can’t fly! They eat fruit and insects. Their eggs are green! Emus are very interesting birds.

Учитель объясняет значение слов, написанных в некоторых квадратах (один/два хода вперёд — “Go Forward One/Two”, один ход назад — “Go Back One”, иди на старт — “Go Back to Start”). Затем учитель объясняет правила игры.
Учащиеся играют командами, и каждый игрок должен иметь фишку (или любой небольшой предмет). Учащиеся помещают фишки на квадрат “Start”, и первый участник игры бросает кубик. Игроки передвигают свои фишки в соответствии с выпавшим числом и называют слова.
